Blogger's Challenge #6 "Free Style"
“Glitter” that’s what I told
myself when I walked into Disney’s store. My little sister had to buy a
princess costumes for her school. She
lost herself when she walked in there and to be true I lost myself in there and
forgot about the ticking clock. The glittery princesses’ dresses made me go
blind, the chandeliers that had Mickey Mouse all over them made me smile just
like the eight years old me when Mickey Mouse cartoons came on TV. The place
was magical like Disney’s characters, I went through the glittery dresses
to the stuffed dolls to the toys side and then a voice interrupted my imagination
“Hello young lady, I hope you had a good day and I hope you enjoy your time
here.” I didn’t say anything, I just smiled and nodded, and I didn’t speak
because the salesperson surprised me too! She looked like the fairy godmother
in Cinderella and she had the same voice and smile, mesmerizing isn’t it?
After spending an hour at
that store we decided to end our temporary fantasy, I didn’t want to walk out
of a place that was filled with happiness and magic to a place that was filled
with disappointments and sadness, at least that’s what I thought when I was at
that place. At the end I left that magical place and left the eight years old
kid side of me there.
I came back home and that
gloomy feeling knocked my door and walked in without waiting for my approval
but this time it didn’t last for so long cause when I checked my phone I saw a
text saying “Smile :D” and it’s hard not to smile when you get such a sweet
command but that’s not the main reason that made me smile, I smiled because
that person showed me that there is still “Good” out there. And just like every
time I wondered. What did I do to deserve good people in my life? All I thought
of is that lately I’ve been selfish, thinking about the people who ignore me
and shut me out. Then I asked myself what did I do to have hurtful people in my
life? And that made me sad cause I don’t remember the good people unless they
remind me of themselves.
…..
After all what happened that
day, I want to ask you, what is love? Have you ever asked yourself that
question? Did you find a satisfying answer? I found it and I’d like to share it
with you because I’d love to see you all fall in love and be happy.
Love is when you wake up
knowing that there’s someone who’s looking forward to see your smile. Love is
when you see your mother’s smile, when you hear your father’s laughter. Love is
when you argue with your siblings over a seat but then you let them take your seat
cause that’s how much you love them. Love is when you have the weirdest
conversation with your best friend but still you manage to understand each
other. Love is when your mentor/teacher forces you to work hard because they
want to point at you and say, “That’s my student.” Love is when a stranger asks
you to have a good day because they want everyone around the world to be happy.
Love is when you sneak out of your bed at night, sit in the corner and start
talking to god cause you know that he never sleeps and he’ll always be there
for you. Love is when you send love to everyone because everyone deserves to be
loved.
Love is oxygen, the feeling
that make us look for a better tomorrow, it’s the feeling that save us from the
dark shadows of sadness, it’s the feeling that pull us out of the deepest ocean
of hopelessness, it’s the feeling that made our hearts beat on the first place.
We are love, made out of love, from a loving god and living in a lovely world.
Appreciate it, send love and feel love cause you deserve it.
"Give the love around and back around it goes"
Hope and Love,
Maitha the Parrot.
