14th of
February is another day to us but others call it as Valentine’s Day. When it
comes to this day people divide into two groups, “Yes” or “No”.. If you ask me
how do you definite it? I’ll tell you it’s another day where a mother keeps
loving her child, another day where a father enjoys working for the happiness
of his child, another day where a husband comes to see his loving wife smiling
at him, another day where a soldier serves his beloved country.. It’s just
another day to love isn’t it?
Today I had a conversation with one of my friends
who found a soul mate (Do NOT freak out, I’m talking about the pure kind of
relationship.) I’ll call that person Bonnie and the other one Clyde. I asked
Bonnie about how much she loves Clyde, she told me “I love him so much Maitha
and I wake up loving him even more” something in me wanted to know more about
this love. My curiosity implied another question, why do you love Clyde more?
“My heartbeats races when I remember him or feel
his love.. I get red.. Sometime my temperature rises.. That feeling in the
throat.. The chills.. He gives me without realizing it, even if we don’t talk.
Like I’d be walking in the mall and imagining what if he was there.. What if we
were holding hands and walking.. What if he was the one ordering food.. I blush
and smile like an idiot; NO ACTUALLY, I smile with him.. I see him handsome in
my eyes and soul. I hope he realizes that..”
It’s just an example of love that didn’t need 14th of
February to declare itself. You might say not all of us got this kind of love;
but I know we do! You’ll find this love every time you look at your mother’s
eyes when you smile. I’m definitely sure that you’ll find this sweet love when
your brother or sister looks after you when you’re sick. This love is found
when your grandparents feed you like you’ve been starving for the past three months.
You got this love when you hold your favorite book and live every single word
of it. You’ll find this love when your favorite player scores and you stand up
shouting his name. You find the greatest love of all when you pray and your
tears come streaming down your face, when you can feel that god is up there
hearing every single word of yours.
Do you know how I feel love?
I feel it when I’m here sitting on my chair looking
at the outside; my little sister is watching how the rain is washing the streets.
I can hear the raindrops clearly, and I know if my little cousins were here
they would go out to play under the rain; I’ll hear their laughter, then I’ll
join them.
I feel it when my knuckles turn blue because it’s
-4 degrees in here and I know if Alia CT was here she’d hug me and Naila would
laugh like a kid.
I feel it when a blanket couldn’t keep me warm
because of the cold weather and I know if I was at Shrouq’s house, I’d use her
blanket then Manal and I would jump on her bed and turn her room into a jungle;
Shrouq wouldn’t shout at us but she’ll join the party.
I feel it when I’m begging my brother to stay quiet
when I’m writing and I know if Maias was in my place she’d shout at him just
like how she used to shout at us when we used to talk while she was studying or
when I laugh at the goofy face Noura makes when she turns around and say
“Licious”
I feel it when my brothers jump around while I’m
trying to focus and I know if Hamda and Mahra were here they’d do the same
thing.
That’s how I feel love and I don’t need 14th of
February to show them how much I love them or how much I’m loved. I love
everyday at any hour and I receive love everyday at any hour, I don’t need a
specific date to show me that
Hope
and Love
Maitha the Parrot
……..
Bonnie and Clyde, thank you so much for
being there for me. I know how much both of you hate “Thanks”, so this post is
dedicated for both of you and may your love lasts forever.
